We host Positive Change Circles in Second Life. The purpose of a Positive Change Circle is to increase wellbeing through small-group conversation. Our conversations focus on the philosophy and science of human flourishing and the generative actions that promote the wellbeing we are seeking.

The Community Matters Podcast existed as a radio program on KZUM in Lincoln, NE from April of 2013 through July of 2018. New podcasts are produced occasionally and can be found here: https://archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22Community+Matters+Radio%22
John A Powell's talk, Invitation to a Journey of Belonging: Creating Cultures of Equity and Inclusion, inspired me to put forward an idea which I am calling the _____ (Fill in the blank with the name of your community (professional, geographic, virtual, etc.)) Forum on Human Flourishing at Lincoln's city council meeting on September 28, 2020: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYhoxCV7CEY. Forums like this could be established in every community.
I propose that we use Powell's framework of targeted universalism (https://belonging.berkeley.edu/targeteduniversalism) with flourishing as the universal goal. Flourishing is a way to describe the upper regions of positive mental health, the sub-components of which include social, psychological, and emotional wellbeing in the model of complete mental health put forward by Prof. Corey Keyes (https://scholar.google.com/scholar?cluster=4139200318759358117)
In geographically based communities, a _______ Forum on Human Flourishing includes researchers, local policymakers, and funders on a _______ Wellbeing Council and representatives from each Positive Change Circle in their community.
